A Rack and Panel Connector is usually square or rectangular in shape and is primarily designed to connect the device and the equipment rack. They have the options of signal, power, RF (Coax, Twinax, Triax) Quadrax, and fiber optic contacts depending on the series chosen. They are often blind mate designs to allow easy installation of avionics program boxes into airframes.
Rack and Panel connectors are typically designed for exceptional military and commercial performance and are manufactured to the highest quality and durability standards for the aerospace and defence industries.
These connectors with thread coupling are based on MIL-DTL-38999 (they use shell size 17) & EN4165 / VG96513 (for the inserts) standard. Offering a high liability within harsh environment, they are sealed and resistant to shock & vibrations. They use the same installation dimensions as connectors according to MIL-DTL-38999.
